This and That

There's really nothing going on here. Film class today was largely spent listening to the utterly insane divinity student pontificate and the extremely obnoxious German exchange student (a truly sour individual) disagree with everyone and everything. I hate to be xenophobic, but I'm beginning to think that we should kick all the foreign elements (that is, non-English students) outta our classes.

A random point: I drop in on a variety of knitting blogs from time to time. I have a vested interest in staying abreast of knitting trends, because my mother is a prolific and excellent knitter, and I use this to my adventage (read: lotsa sweaters). If you want to look at da pwetty pictures, check out this book, in which I was extremely disappointed; this book, which contains Things I Want; this book, from which I have Macey, Petula, Orchid, and Kira-in-progress; and finally, my all-time favorite book, from which I have many many things (in an odd coincidence, I also had one of the model's haircuts, until I cut my hair shorter).

From my crochet end of things, I'm finishing up a lacey green baby blanket. A scarf in a gorgeous chenille yarn is currently halted because the skein of yarn is hopelessly tangled; I work on untangling it while watching TV. I'm not sure what my next project is going to be. I have a mental plan for another baby blanket, and I've got the yarn for it; I just need to diagram out how it would work. It exists in my head, anyway-- and it looks cute there.

Reading: Mary McCarthy, The Group
Listening: crickets
Current Obsession: Lipton Diet Raspberry tea
Alice: is not helping the tangled yarn situation
