Amusing story from The Fox: She had never been to a pull-out-all-the-stops Southern wedding before (she's Greek Orthodox), and she went to her first one this summer. She came into the back of the church (she called it the narthex; I pointed out that it was, in this context, a "vestibule"), and a betuxed guy back there took her arm. She thought he was being awfully friendly, and she gently disassociated herself and proceeded to find a seat in the sanctuary. Then, as she sat, she noticed that other people were being led to their seats. I explained what an usher was, etc.
Oh, and speaking of this wedding stuff, another couple who's getting hitched have invited so many people that they're having closed-circuit TV for the ceremony.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
