I should probably update now, shouldn't I? Nothing exciting to report, though. I picked out a lovely lawnchair of the most sophisiticated variety (5 adjustable positions-- whoooo-hoooo) for my apartment's balcony, and I think I'm going for the wooden-armed futon rather than the metal-armed one. The College Apartment chair is going with me after all (just so all of its devotees will know where it's headed). Because the futon is black, all of my preexisting pillows as well as the throw will match. And, of course, the lava lamp goes with anything-- as does everyone's favorite clapper-activated fountain. My mother is cringing at my decorating taste (which she would probably decline to call "taste").
Other than that, I had two vaccines at my doctor's appointment, 3 vials of blood drawn, a session with the liquid nitrogen, and a return appointment the next week for a booster shot. Then I went to the dentist, where I had a cavity for the first time in ages, plus a fractured filling. Both were on the left side of my mouth, one upper, one lower, which means I got stuck four more times. I have a lovely appointment with the oral surgeon shortly to get a wisdom tooth (which I mistakened for a chronic ulcer-- apparently, what I felt was it coming in) extracted.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
