And some more updates from The Hometown: I got the wooden-armed futon (available at your friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart, for those of you who are just dying to copy my original and trend-setting style). Cost more than the metal-armed one, but it looks better, too. And the wood will, like, totally coordinate with my bookcases, ya know? Also got a new CD rack to hold my ever-expanding collection, which had long since outgrown my ancient black holder as well as my tipping-prone wooden one..
Oral surgeon this Friday. Oh, yay.
Oh, and about that previous post (6/29/02) about the high-speed cable: That's high-speed in theory. In practice, there's a bad section of wire in someone's backyard, under a fence, and the work crew is mostly hospitalized, apparently (seriously-- one's in a coma). So the internet works, sometimes, is fast, sometimes, but is more often somewhat slowish and randomly disconnecting. My lazy, worthless, attached-to-computer brother is not taking it well.
Umm. Nothing else. My summer updates aren't as exciting as my schoolyear ones (which I expect will be even more exciting come this fall), especially with no daily philosophy puns to act as filler. I did read some Plato over the weekend, though, and think I'll cover some Foucault today. Oh, and speaking of theorists, theory.org has a new "set" of Lego Theorists. They're worth checking out.
Ciao, for the moment.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
