A philosophy slam:
The philosophy professor was talking about who knows what relating to Kant, but, at any rate, he said he had a funny story to tell. He begins: "I once knew this guy who thought he had a concrete proof for God's existence . . . " And the class breaks into loud laughter. He had to yell "wait, wait, that's not the funny part!"
The funny part (or, rather, the intended funny part, but he did acknowledge that the first part was pretty amusing) was that the guy wore a helmet all the time for about a year so he wouldn't forget the proof. You know, so it wouldn't leak out of his head.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
