Here's another funny one: This morning, I awoke to find myself out of Mountain Dew. So, since I can't start the morning without it, I decide to go downstairs (outside) to the drink machine and get one. I'm wearing my pajamas, meaning my plaid boxers from circa 10th grade and a t-shirt. It's chilly, so I add my gray sweatshirt-jacket to the ensemble. Bierkenstocks, of course. I didn't bother brushing my hair, which does its own thing in the morning. I had a headache and had just woken up, so of course I was subverbal. The Fox saw me putting on my shoes and jacket and looked alarmed. She asked what I was doing, and I grunted "Dew" (or so she said later-- I don't remember speaking). She just told me that she thought I was going out to Publix dressed like that. I do believe the words "new low" came up in the course of conversation.
