Events of Deep Significance
It's Dwight Yoakam's birthday. Moment of silence, please.
'k, saw Team America tonight and injured several internal organs in the process of laughing myself sick. Is there a soundtrack for this? Because I need it. Seriously. Freaking. Hilarious.
But now you see why Team America was so appealing.
I did see La Dolce vita last night at a local independent film theater. (speaking of extremely long movies) Very good, with some great party scenes, but I thought the ending was hollow and fell flat.
I would like to say that the outfits were beyond fabulous. The endless types of and subtle differences between the black dresses! ::weeps:: Also, those Italian actresses have got the art of shoe wearing perfected: you should either be in stilettos or barefoot. THAT, my friends, is the only way to live. Give me heels, or give me bare feet, but keep those flip-flops away from me. Beautifully fitted black dresses, worn with fab black pumps, shed as the night wears on. That's the last word in glamorous.
How did I get from Team America to classic glamour?
Marcello. Mmm. And I think Alice probably pictures herself as looking like the Ekberg character (also here).
Reading: just finished Lecter trilogy, read backward. Papers? What student papers?
Listening: "America" song from the movie (scroll down)
Current Obsession: eh?
Alice: thinks she looks like this (she has species identification issues)

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
