Bleah.
I'm having a panic attack. Assignments are piling up, Things to Do, being observed by my teaching mentor (who has a nasty reputation) tomorrow. Trying to prep a coherent class plan.
Pacing, pacing, doing self-talk exercises aloud. Alice stares.
Haven't managed to pick up City of Night since last Thursday. Gone with the Wind has been untouched for weeks (I'm stalled on a particularly racist paragraph). The only thing I've made any progress in reading is The Night Stalker. Yeah, that's intellectual, if indicative of my overall mood.
Sacrifice a goat for me tomorrow at 9:35. Ask the gods that my students do their friggin reading and manage not to get into an inane, unstoppable debate, á la last Thursday.
Reading:Cat on A Hot Tin Roof (tomorrow's teaching)
Listening: Current Obsession: panic.
Alice: clearly thinks I've flipped.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
