Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.
Friday, April 09, 2004
As usual, I accomplished nothing today. I did (re)watch The Silence of the Lambs, which the Ethical Vegetarian Animal Sex Food-Underwear etc. professor loaned me to cheer me up. He also loaned me The Big Sleep, which he says he reads when depressed. I normally read diaries and journals when depressed (usually written by, uh, depressed people), so maybe a change will do me good.
Ha.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
