Still philosophizing after all these years.

This site, featuring the world's ugliest bridesmaid's dresses, is hilarious. It comes recommended by Holmes, one of the shower-throwers for a fellow departmental who's getting married. As far as I know, no one wants to go to the shower, excepting the bride-to-be. Unfortunately, I'm invited and have been threatened as to what will happen if I fail to show up. So I guess this means I'm going to Target (thank gods they're registered there) and buying a handtowel.
I'm not good at this sort of stuff.
Back to ugly dresses. There's this splendid ensemble in my closet back home, a relic from a wedding my mother was in (in the 60s? 70s?). At any rate, it's orange and shiny, which tends not to be a good combination (except in road cones). I forget the exact trim and details, unfortunately, though it was a faithful member of my dress-up box for many years. It also features matching gloves and a small handbag, as well as a hairpiece featuring lace (also orange) and a faux flower (orange). It's like sherbert, just not as appetizing.
Speaking of unappetizing, I realized earlier today that I haven't taken a shower since Monday. That's probably bad or something.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
