Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

I should be getting ready for my 10:00 appointment, but I had to share the tidbit I picked up yesterday:
One of my fellow students bought a house when she moved here last year (her husband has a real job, so they have money and everything). She said that her real estate agent moonlighted as a personal shopper at Nordstrom's, and that a lot of her clients were the undergrads here. The agent told her that a lot of the students have per-semester clothing budgets of $50,000.
How??? All designer clothing, I guess, and she said that a lot of them have to buy stuff for debutantes, which, I suppose, is expensive. And I guess they join sororities. But STILL.
I was horrified. And I thought that all of you should be, too. So I shared. Peace out.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
