Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.
Tuesday, February 04, 2003
I have 16 unread messages in one account, 68 in another, 12 in another, 2 in another, and 8 in another. Therefore, if you are one of those people, I apologize and will get back to you after Thursday. This week, there are 700 pages of reading for my muckraking class alone. In all three classes combined, what is conventionally called "literature" is represented by two poems (or, rather, two versions of the same poem).
I'm cranky, overloaded, stressed, and verging on basket-case-ness. As Blondie used to say: "If you were a horse, I'd shoot you."
Except you is me. Yeah. That made sense, somewhere.
Back to reading.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
