Brief update 'cuz I'm swamped.
My mistake; I plead exhaustion. My inability to remember beloved childhood books is probably due to, oh, stress and mental fatigue. Correspondent "Beast" should be "Aunt Beast," after the character in A Wrinkle in Time. Previous posts will be amended. Oddly, I was just thinking about that series last week, yet I still managed to get the name wrong. I throw myself on the mercy of the court. [peanut gallery, shove it]
Also, a smallish link. I'm not sure if it's amusing or scary.
I got my Southern lit paper, which had actually been finished since Saturday morning, turned in today. He's the only prof who wanted an actual paper copy. 19th cen paper is getting there, but I'm sick of it; I didn't really care about the short story or the topic to begin with. The modernism paper is the tough one; he's the most exacting of the readers, I think, and I'm trying to get an obscene amount of material crammed into this thing. I'm almost on page 14, up from page 7 last night (last night meaning the original 7 page short version). The original paper was extremely tightly constructed and was thus really difficult to pull apart for the expansions; I'm still having trouble with that. Fortunately, I'm not having to make any substantial cuts, so I'm not losing ground there. At the moment, I have one paragraph that I would consider questionable, but it may have to stay in there for purposes of length.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
