Another Day, Another Lack of a Dollar

Actually, I just got my summer funding check earlier this week. They pay it all in one lump sum, and it seems like soooo much money to get at once (in grad student terms, of course). I think we're supposed to produce some account of the research that rises out of this grant. Uh, rent? Cat food? Library overdue fines?

I wonder if deep soul-searching counts as research. ::snort::

Busyish week, meaning I haven't done as much as I should have, work-wise. I went out for a friend's birthday last night, and we went to one of the city's most famous spots, which was fun (and culturally instructive, of course; bars often are). Tonight we had an impromptu townhouse complex party out back, which was a lot of fun and quite casual: last night, I agonized over which heels to wear (yes, I'm vain); tonight, I threw on flip-flops to complement my yoga pants and tank top.

My apartment is in desperate need of cleaning; the dishwasher needs to be unloaded, reloaded, and run; clothes need to be washed; etc, etc, etc. And seminar papers need to be written. In other words, the Motivation Fairy needs to come pay a visit.
