Meet My New Best Friend

No more public computer! I return to the internet, via my own laptop! The beauty of it all brings a tear to my eye.
Or that may just be dirt in the eye-- did some more planting today.
Smacking hard clay repeatedly with a metal rake is highly theraputic.
Reading:Me Talk Pretty One Day; haven't started Les Liaisons Dangereuses; heard a talk (library hosted-- me, usher) by Fern Michaels, if that counts (actually, I heard very little of it; I was maintaining order in the hallway and trying to straighten out an issue that had come up-- not that listening to a romance-y author is quite to my taste, anyway) Listening:Abbatoir Blues / Lyre of Orpheus Current Obsession: still! wireless! and seeds. Alice: is napping on the one place on my bed that isn't covered by clothes, books, etc. Guess it's the floor for me (after all, the alternative is-- gasp-- cleaning up)

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
