And Life Goes On
A library patron kindly informed me today that I'm "a fine lookin' young lady." Patron in question was 30 years old, max. It's always nice to be harassed while working.
Speaking of harassment, yesterday's no-library-card woman returned to pick up the books I bagged for her; she took the opportunity to voice her complaints (top volume)to another employee who hadn't been present for the initial confrontation yesterday.
I was also asked, over the phone, to locate and print out a 1040X form (www.irs.gov, people) and have it waiting when the patron arrived. At your service, ladies and gentlemen.
And for crying out loud, when you have three screaming kids in tow, and you're not even looking for books yourself, please don't hang around in the children's section and pretend they're not making a peep. Can't you do that just as well at home?
That's about it for today.
Reading:Auschwitz Listening:Best of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Current Obsession: who am I? where am I going? how do I establish direction in life? etc.
Alice: slept peacefully through Helter Skelter. Ah, the sleep of the innocent.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
