Rain, Vampires, and DayQuil

These have been the three most prominent features of my glorious Saturday.

Rain, because it's been one of those days when you just want to curl up in bed and stay there. I seem to be coming down with a cold, so I in fact did return to bed to sleep for awhile.

Vampires, because I've spent most of my work time today watching Les Vampires, which is very cool, and making extensive notes for film class purposes. I watched six of ten episodes of the serial and am kind of burned out at this point. The aforementioned cold doesn't help, either. There were several points at which I realized I hadn't been paying attention for several minutes (soooo easy to faze out during silent film) and had to rewind to figure out what was going on.

Irma Vep is cool. From now on, I'm going to parade around with kohled eyes like that, just so people will know that I'm a supercool criminal.

Or was that pathetic halfwit grad student? One or the other . . .

I also submitted a "memorable quote" from the film to IMDB, a first for me. I'm all atwitter.

Yes, my day has been that lame.

Finally, DayQuil because of the cold. Those are some danged big orange capsules there. I'm taking NyQuil tonight, with all my regular meds, and I hope that the combo makes for major oblivion. I notice that the NyQuil link above says not to combine NyQuil with Xanax or Seconal. If I had Xanax or Seconal, I'd be a lot happier. And probably not bothering with NyQuil in the first place.

Do I want to be a drugged-out, braindead zombie? You betcha. Consciousness is overrated.

Final note: I came across this site while looking for screen stills. It's cool and a good place to waste valuable time that you could be spending doing something less enjoyable.

Reading: no reading; Les Vampires, all day
Listening: various pieces of music from the film are combining into a mishmash in my head. Oh, and that weird crackly sound your ears make when your head is stopped up. Or maybe that's just me?
Current Obsession: if the doctor would give me Xanax or Seconal, I wouldn't be obsessive, now would I?
Alice: has been remarkably subdued today.
