Let's see-- other news? I'm still attempting to read Gone with the Wind. Reading this is taking, uh, an extremely long time because I can only read about 10 pages at a time before having to put the book down and walk away. Seriously. I made it two paragraphs today and then turned to Faulkner (Requiem for a Nun) for comfort.
When I was a senior in high school, our teacher recounted her experience of reading for comprehensive exams. She recalled how, after dragging herself through X horrific tome, she'd turn to a Faulkner novel for a much-needed break. At 18, I was incredulous. Now, I completely understand. Don't know if that counts as maturity or not, but it's something.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
