To Whom It May Concern
I'm in the process of commenting on a "letter to my students" that the writing director made us write last year. In other words, I'm adding new BS to old BS. And won't that produce a lovely odor. I'm considering scrapping the whole letter (now peppered with "reflections on my development as a teacher") in favor of the following:
Dear students,
Congratulations; you've broken the shattered remains of my spirit into even tinier slivers. All that's left to do is for the Swiffer in the Sky to sweep up the pathetic remains and lay me to rest in that eternal wastebasket.
On that note, I quit.
Love 'n' kisses,
The Shell of a Human Being
Yeah. I'm soooo excited about starting back with teaching and (my last semester of) coursework that I could do a Linda Blair headspin.
Speaking of, go watch this site's 30-minute version of The Exorcist. Fabulous. (thanks to SWMBO for the link) Also, if anyone goes to see that Exorcist prequel, drop me a line on whether I should go see it or wait for video.
Back to my whining. Tomorrow is the all-day writing workshop, also known as the writing director's "teaching lovefest." Also known as a waste of my friggin' Saturday.
Reading: Patricia Cornwell. So sue me.
Listening: to my air conditioning hacking up a lung
Current Obsession: yarn
Alice: is tensely watching something outside that I can't see. I suspect supernatural elements.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
