Egads, this screen looks freaky. I think I've been staring at books and notebooks too long. Either that or Alice's catnip is starting to affect me.
Nothing much going on here. Alice remains ever-vigilant at the windows, thanks to the flocks of birds that are coming through. The lower-story windows start about eight inches off the ground, so she can see out of those by sitting on the ground. The upper story windows, though, are a normal height from the ground. They have sills that are five inches, which she can sit on, but I really think she needs one of those perches that attach to the ledge. Comfort is key.
Speaking of comfort being key, JM got a papasan chair, and I'm convinced that I, too, need one. A few weekends ago, when several people were at her apartment, I requisitioned the chair for the better part of the evening. It made a splendid nest.
I actually did buy one piece of furniture (sort of) yesterday, a drawer-end table cube from Target. It's beside my computer desk here (also known as a vanity table that's missing its mirror; nonetheless, a lovely, graceful oak piece, if you ask me), acting as a telephone table. The desk-vanity was getting a bit crowded, and I was tired of knocking various things (usually my pencil-pen cup, also known as a fancy bathroom cup from Wal-Mart) off the table. I've got more breathing room up here now. Plus, the drawers hold tapes, allowing me to store my not-so-lovely VHS collection (also known as lotsa taped X-Files) out of view. The assembly wasn't all that bad, especially considering that drawers had to be put together. I am woman, hear me build.
I'm sure you're all thrilled to hear that. The excitement never ends around here.
In fact, it's Saturday night, so why not celebrate with an early bedtime?
Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
