Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

I'm back in The Big City, having set out from Podunk this morning. The drive could certainly be a whole, whole, whole lot longer than it is, but for a person who hates driving as much as I do, it's more than enough. My back is killing me from sitting in a tensed position the whole time (where's my massage when I need one?). Plus, the bulk of my drive is west, so I was driving into the low, harsh winter sun the whole time. Grump, grump.
But I'm here, surrounded by piles of stuff to unpack and put away. My apartment is still standing, and the parquet floor has been replaced (yay!). It's a slightly lighter (faux) wood than before, and shiner. I like it.
Alice is sniffing the entire apartment and looking out all the windows, I suppose to make sure that the walls and parking lot haven't moved in her absence. She was emphatic about not wanting to get in her box this morning, prompting an America's Funniest Home Videos-style chase around the house this morning. Sadly, that was probably my biggest workout of the holiday season.
That would about cover it, unless anyone wants to come volunteer to help me clean this place up. Anyone? Anyone?

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
