Stein critics are insane.
I have now read comparisons of her work to every modernist painter in the book, the Wayback machine from Rocky and Bullwinkle [ed. note: a fine television show, if ever there was one], and, currently, "Skip to My Lou."
A note: I have just made a brilliant critical discovery! The critic who uses the Waybac Machine example misspells it: it's "Waybac," not "Wayback!"
Okay, I've reached the high point of my weekend now.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
