Still philosophizing after all these years.

So I added a few new links over on the right, in various places. Nothing earthshattering; I just felt like it.
Guess who doesn't want to grade papers?
In a completely unrelated note, we're doing some readings about Godey's Lady's Book for one of my classes. This site and this site have some pretty cool scans of the original plates from the magazine. Fashion plates, domestic scenes, patterns (I confess that I'm tempted by at least one crochet pattern). I thought it was interesting, anyway. Looking at the fashion plates makes you wonder how current fashion will age.
On that less-than-profound note, it's time to go curl up with The Scarlet Letter.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
