Still philosophizing after all these years.

Go watch this. It's incredible. I hadn't seen it until yesterday.
Hmmph. Broke my perfect every-day-blogging streak yesterday. Bleah. This is possibly because I slept until nearly noon, left a bit after six, and then returned at nearly 3:30 AM. And then I didn't manage to fall asleep until nearly 6 AM.
Went over to a Kevin Smith Movie-a-Thon and watched Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (I missed the morning showings of Mallrats and Clerks, since I was being utterly productive-- translation, sleeping and reading all of 26 pages of The Octopus). Anyway. Jay and Silent Bob is a movie best viewed in company, I think. It takes the shame out of enjoying it.
I came back smelling strongly of cigarette smoke; my corduroy blazer always picks it up in a big way. Alice, my little inhalant fiend, is fascinated by the smell of cigarettes; I've spent a good deal of time today prying her off of said blazer. She also affixed herself to my jeans, which, I'm sure, smelled highly doggish. She was peeved and wouldn't even sleep in the same room as me last night. She gets her strong personality from her mother.
At any rate, I had a really good time with good people. I need to get out of my own mind more often. It's not a good place to be.
I splurged (with my vast emperor's income) today and got some Aveeno bath stuff. It was truly lovely. Highly recommended. Alice was fascinated by the bubbles.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
