Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

I need to make friends with some nonsmokers. Our annual department party was last night, and I'm still congested and coughy from all the smoke (English grad students = chainsmokers). Normally, I handle it okay, but the sheer volume of smoke last night seems to have finally pushed my allergies off the deep end. ::haaccck::
The party was fine, though. It's a face time experience. The Margarita Lady (Loni Anderson lookalike, as Holmes points out) was there again this year; there were plenty of people to talk to; and Holmes did a drunken rendition of "Oklahoma."
I didn't get much done yesterday, though. I teach until 10:00, and then we have a required teaching meeting (complete waste of time) at 1:00. That's not really enough time to make it worth walking back here to my apartment, but it's a lot of time to kill over in the offices. And then the party started at 7:30, after me not getting back here until around 2:30. I didn't get as much done today as I'd hoped, mainly from sheer lack of will. Some days, you just don't wanna read theory.
I did, however, get my hair cut, and I no longer look like Cousin Itt's twin sister (height, hair, and all). I'd trimmed my bangs several times, but the overall effect was still Chewbacca-esque. I can see clearly now, my hair is gone . . .
Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
