Had my final two paper conferences today, one involving a paper that basically said that females are too egocentric to give men what they want. That one was a joy to deal with ("now, what specific textual evidence were you planning to use in support of this?"). The fire alarm in the building also went off during the conference, forcing an evacuation, which only served to draw it out more.
I just took a bath, assisted by the Alice, who now has a wet tail. She's a peculiar critter (but awfully cute).
Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
