I am going to pitch my phone out the window. All telemarketers and wrong numbers are henceforth invited to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
Today's wrong number:
If this is another telemarketer so help me . . . Me: Hello?
Unidentified Dude: Hey girl, how are you?
Who the heck is this? Me: Uh, fine.
UD: Where your man at?
Probably hiding under a rock in some godforsaken swamp. Me: I think you have the wrong number.
UD: Don't you got no man?
No, I don't, and thanks so much for reminding me! Me I think you have the wrong number.
UD: Look, I just seen your man leavin' by the back door.
You're a spying freak, and I'll probably be seeing you on Jerry Springer shortly. Me: I really think that you have the wrong number.
UD: Isn't this [address]?
Praise all that's holy, no. Me: No, it's not.
UD: Oh, sorry then!
*end conversation*
That was surreal. Obviously, though, these people lead more exciting lives than I. Excitement, intrigue, romance!
Maybe I should have written that address down. Might improve my social life.
