Let's see. Insomnia? Present and accounted for! Sleep? We don't need no stinkin' sleep! [link spotted by field correspondent S.W.M.B.O.]
I think I'm well past the point where I can concentrate on critical articles about Wordsworth. Have I mentioned that I really don't care for Wordsworth? Yeah, I thought so. Ok. I used to hate him a lot, but I've grown into an appreciation of him in my old age. Which still doesn't mean I want to be writing article-length papers about him. I'm an Americanist, fer cryin' out loud. Let me read McCarthy in peace!
Ok. I should go get ready for bed, then lie in bed and read deep and insightful works until I fall into my usual light, nightmare-filled doze.
Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
