Latest obsession from The Land of Texture-Oriented Eaters: wasabi rice crackers.
They meet my main two food requirements (1. dry 2. crunchy), and they've got this great eye-opening flavor. They're much better than the low-fat store-brand saltines I've been consuming madly.
In other news: Most of you have received a semi-coherent e-mail from me on the subject of the prospective student who'll be staying with me. I'm somewhat calmer now and issue manymany thanks for all your level-headed advice. I'm going to brain certain fellow students with a Norton anthology, pile junque into my closet, and be my usual charming self.
Besides, I've transferred the focus of my anxiety to Thursday's paper-presentation. Right now, we have the Elvisette Freak-Out Special, in all her hand-shaking, tension-headache-having, jumpy, hair-yanking glory. I haven't gone into total meltdown yet, fortunately, but we'll see if I make it to Thursday intact.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
