Jake just huffed at me because I moved my left arm out from under his head (gently, of course). Correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I checked, that was my arm attached to my body. I don't think that Mr. Jake is much for sharing, though (though he attempted, at some length, to "share" my lunch-- in spite of the fact that he'd just been fed). His presence produces a weird mentality in me: he eats, and he's fat. I eat too, and therefore I must be fat. With friends like my brain, you really don't need enemies.
And, because I can't write an entry without ranting at least a little: With friends like the United States government . . . yeah, you can finish the sentence.
Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
