Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

First, the good news: My mom got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon and is now at home. 'Bout time.
Other news: Thanks to Batty for sending me the (faux) kitty. It may live out on the balcony, to keep my stone pig happy. And if it got to stay inside, Jake might get jealous.
An idea: let's have another Philosophy Slam contest! Haven't had one of those in awhile.
Submit suggestions to me via e-mail (see right bar on this page, or use whichever of my various e-mail addresses suits your fancy). The cat is large, dark gray / black, sleek and dignified looking. Not sure exactly what it's (gender is also up for grabs here) made of, but it's a hard material of some sort. I need a digital camera.
I'll give this until next Friday, April 4, a week and a day. Best suggestion wins the deep and incomparable honor of, uh, winning the contest. And public-blog recognition. Okay, maybe I should think of a better prize. We'll see if it winning suggestion is worth it.
Start those mental wheels a-turnin'. Victory is within reach.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
