Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

Last night was the coldest of the year here. It would have been a nice one to sleep through. Unfortunately, I couldn't sleep at all, even though I'd been up since 5:30 AM. Eventually, I left my bed for the futon; it was warmer in the den than in the bedroom, anyway. I watched taped X-Files and TV until about 3:30, which is when I could no longer follow plot lines (even though I'd seen all the X-Files before). I muts have dropped off around 4:00 or so, and I slept in until 9:00ish. I look terrible, with bags, puffy eyelids, and bloodshot eyes. I guess I was already more tired than I realized. I'm going out with friends tonight to get some dinner and see a movie, so let's hope that I make it through that awake and can sleep tonight. I hate this. It's so grim and cold and depressing outside that this is not a stellar time to be having this problem.
Anyway. I'm grouchy. You might have noticed. I'm about to try to do some reading, but I'm not sure how well my brain is going to function.
And a further complaint while I'm at it: I'm running out of yarn; the project I'm currently working on is going to be my last. Wal-Mart is waaaaaay too far out to make a run for yarn. And I need a button to finish what I'm doing now. And a P hook. Grump, grump, grump.
Thus I conclude.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
