Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

Let's see if the internet can stay connected long enough for me to post. My attempts at e-mail have not been successful.
I took my poor car to the Ford dealership Saturday, and the new part for the wheel is on order [see posting 12/21/02]. Then I took it to the body shop today, and the new rearview mirror is on order. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of walking.
I also had the joy of going to the eye doctor today. Eyes dilated, can't see. And I have the dentist to look forward to next week. Oh, and I had blood taken this morning.
We went to go see my great-grandmother tonight. For background info, she had a mastectomy a few years ago. She had been billed for some medical something (don't remember what) that insurance should have covered, but she was having trouble getting the main office in Atlanta to understand that it was a billing error. She finally told some hapless agent (who didn't know who s/he was messing with, I'm sure), that they "shouldn't even be charging an 84-year-old woman with one breast, anyway."
On that note, I need to go prepare turkey rolls for the Descent of the Relatives tomorrow.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
