Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

Apparently, every time I stand up, I'm supposed to feed Jake. If I walk in the kitchen, heaven help me; he's underfoot, very literally, the whole time. Right now he has his back to me (pouting because I wouldn't feed him) and is doing the frog-legged thing. Oh, wait, he just turned and cast a look, which is probably supposed to be soulful and endearing, over his shoulder. Or whatever. Do cats have shoulders?
I'm feeling deep tonight; can ya tell? I need to do some more reading and scoop the cat box, then I think I'll crash. I took a nap this afternoon but was awakened by His Royal Jakeness, who seems to feel that he can't bear an hour without attention. I think he thinks he's a dog.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
