Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.
Wednesday, October 02, 2002
We don't have southern lit today; instead, during class time, we're required to go to a lecture on Robert Penn Warren. This means NO READING this week, in the miracle to end all miracles. The timing couldn't be better, because I'm doing a presentation tomorrow (prayers, meditations, and sacrifices welcome). That's if I can still talk tomorrow; my allergies are acting up in a bad way. This early fall period usually kills me (along with all of spring, most of the summer, and a significant portion of winter).
I have to go read excerpts from Refiguring Modernism, which is only available in e-book form at the moment (the real copy being checked out). Have I mentioned how much I hate e-books? A lot?

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
