Philosophy Slam Still philosophizing after all these years.

I managed to get my hair cut today, for the first time since early August. I was getting kind of sheepdoggish, to say the least. Except not as friendly as aforementioned dog breed. There's a place in the retail strip that's right in front of my apartment (between the building and the street), and, given that Lili was making her presence known, I decided to try it first. I called and asked how much for a regular cut. $25. Needless to say, I didn't end up going there. I got my low-class butt to Supercuts, where I got a few inches off for about $12. Excellent marketing strategy: they spray one's hair soaking wet to cut it, then charge to blow-dry it. Given that it was pouring sideways rain outside anyway, I declined the blow-dry and figured that no one at my next stop, the grocery store, would know the difference. They also tried to sell me a hair product for many many dollars, but I declined that as well. I need a sign that says "Graduate Student. Poor." And you'd think they could tell by looking at me that fashion wasn't a high priority anyway.

So now I can once again see this lovely Inspiron screen without raking hair off my eyes, and my freezer is once again well-stocked with the frozen foods upon which I depend for life. I thought I was going to cook more when I came up here, but then reality sank in: I'm either too tired or too busy to do anything more complicated than operate the microwave or boil water for pasta.

On that note, it's time to go pop a frozen pizza into the toaster oven.
