Philosophy Slam Still philosophizing after all these years.

Before I continue, I should probably say that, though my blog here might give the impression that I get all my news from comics and satire pieces, that's not the case; I do spend a considerable amount (read: too much) of time following actual news media, mainstream and alternative. It's just that I tend to agree with the satirical stuff.

Moving on: Today's Non Sequitur [note: link goes to current comic; after today, it'll be in the "archive" section, directly under the current strip] was spot-on but not at all funny. Not that it was supposed to be. It's not helping that I'm doing research on trench warfare at the moment. Perhaps I should photocopy some of this stuff and send it to our dear dear dear president, not that he tends to acknowledge alternative viewpoints. I picture him sitting in the Oval Office, fingers in ears, humming (probably Gilligan's Island theme, or something else at his mental level; maybe Power Rangers?) as the entire world vocalizes its reaction to the current warmongering: NO!

I didn't like either of the two main canidates (I'm begging now: please, please, PLEASE support third-party politics) for the last presidential election. I did have concerns about Gore's potential foreign policy, but I basically thought Bush was too stupid to do anything major (not that that sentiment qualifies as an endorsement, by any means). The economy was already on the way to this current recession, so I figured that he'd get blamed for it (not that his current economic policy is actually helping anything), and in four years, we'd be rid of him. Shows how wrong I was, huh.

I'm going to go work on my paper and sulk now.
