Tiiiiiiiiiiiired.

Jake's Mommy [henceforth JM] and I have noted that, whenever we go to bars, we seem to close them. I'm not sure if that's business-hour related or if the proprietors are trying to tell us something. Anyway, so it was late when I got in last night. I had set my alarm for about 8:00 but, when it went off, I just reset it. Then when it went off again, I tried to reset it again, but ended up turning it off altogether. Fortunately, someone called about 9:10. Everything still looks pretty blurry, though. We had a good time last night, in spite of the weather (which went from bad to worse). The first set, Miss Social's friend, was the best. He had the added advantage of being acoustic, so we could hear each other talk. The second guy got off to a good start with some solid alt-country, but he kind of degenerated after that. He was plugged in, and we spent that entire set screaming in each other's faces. The third guy was pretty country and not great at all (which was weird, because he was the headliner), and it was back to acoustic. We bonded, man. Funniest part of the evening award goes to Touchy Feeley, who, while seriously drunk, attempted to discuss Pynchon. Don't try this at home.

Now I have to get to work in this lovely state of exhaustion (I can barely read this screen). I have an appointment at 3:00 to discuss paper topics for the class formerly known as Victorian (now just nineteenth-century). He's going to shoot down whatever I say, anyway, so I'm not getting too overwrought here.

To work.
