Successfully purchased box of cereal at CVS (for whatever reason, it's a lot cheaper there than at the grocery store) and determined that their one bottle of ketchup had seen much better days, though probably not recently.
Enough levity. I'm going to go read "Crisis of Culture, Crisis of State: Andre Malraux Ministers to French Culture, 1959-1969," by Herman Lebovics. I may be really off-base here, but I'm guessing this won't be the funniest thing I've ever read.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
