Just got back from using the pool bathroom. They say that broken toilets, when there is only one toilet in the apartment, qualify as high-priority requests. It's been 4-5 hours since I called maintenance. Does that seem non-high-priority to anyone else? And, since it's been raining, I managed to get the bottoms of my jeans good and wet in the process. However, the pool bathroom is nicer than my own, aside from the fact that the shower seems to have caved in. I'm leaving in the next 15 minutes or so, and if this toilet isn't flushing when I get back (not sure exactly what's wrong with it; pulling the chain doesn't seem to fix anything), I will be an unhappy camper (one who will immediately dial the 24-hour on-call maintenance person and make him or her, no matter where he or she is, get his or her personal rear down here NOW).

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
