Philosophy Slam Still philosophizing after all these years.

It's another lovely day in La-La Land. After a semi-disasterous trip to the grocery store, which has left me with one partially-attached rearview mirror (let's not go there, shall we?), then a near-breaking of my water pitcher (and a dropping of the filter into the sink), I'm here sitting on my duff, which is being assulted by futon bars, and attempting to read "A Voice without a Body: The Phonographic Logic of Heart of Darkness." It's not bad; I'd just rather be outside, frolicking in nature and all that. In the meantime, I've got lunch in the oven (now that I have actual food to eat). I'm not wild about Harris-Teeter; it's expensive (so much pricier than Bi-Lo, which doesn't seem to exist up here), and the variety isn't great. I think there's a Kroger's somewhere near here, and I'll probably try to find it some weekend. Harris Teeter did have Lance Toasties this week, which redeemed them slightly, but they don't have the meatless Boca hot dogs or much in the way of variety when it comes to yogurt. Plus, the store brand of milk is available only in gallon-size, and a half-gallon is more my style (now that I've switched to skim from 2% and don't drink as much as I used to-- mainly because I don't like skim). However, I have procured bread, milk, crackers, tuna (there are entirely too many choices for tuna), and pasta, so I should be good to go. Oh, and a broom; my family of pigeons moved off my balcony, but not before trashing the place, if you get my drift.
