Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

I just totaled it up, and I have 1,109 pages of fiction reading for next week. This total does not reflect critical reading assignments for any class (mainly because I haven't photocopied that stuff yet) or the research project for 19th century (the course formerly known as Victorian lit).
So, if anyone would like to provide detailed and insightful plot analysis for Go Down, Moses, The Voyage Out, or Middlemarch, you know my e-mail address.
In the meantime, I'd better start reading some George Eliot.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
