Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

Finished my reading with an hour to go! Of course, that necessitated getting up at 4:00 AM . . . Such sacrifices I make for . . . whatever the end result of this graduate school stint is (my field being literature, a job is probably not the goal we're looking at here). Enlightenment. Learning. Edification. Increased awareness of fragmented subjectivity.
I don't think I'm making any sense, which means that it's time to depart for class. The professor always brings a Diet Coke, and when he drinks, he makes slurping noises, and today may be the day that I snap, fling myself across the table, snatch it out of his hand, and hurl it out the window. At least, that's what I've been fantasizing about for the last few weeks. I'm such a dedicated student.
I really need to take a nice walk now and try to wake up a bit. I am going to bed at 11:00 tonight. Period. End of story.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
