English senior picnic tonight. Nice-- I didn't have to cook. My current goal is to live soley on potlucks, pizza parties, and leftovers. So far, I'm doing quite well, though it did entail having cookies for lunch today and coleslaw and lemon dessert for dinner one day. My place o' employment is having its lunch tomorrow, and I should be able to score some leftovers there (to add to the leftover chicken I have in the fridge). I always think it's nice to have goals.
There was a cocker spanial at the picnic that I wanted to bring home with me. Sweeeet doggie. Liked having his ears rubbed (and played with, and flapped). Nice seeing a lot of the senior majors, too; had some nice discussions, found out what everybody is doing. Most, but not quite all, do have employment of some sort, which is encouraging.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
