Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

The philosophy department forgot my exit interview this morning, which was scheduled at that lovely hour of 8:30 AM (the 8:00 was also available, but I declined). It's been rescheduled for 8:30 tomorrow morning. Just because he gets up at 4:00 AM to breathe (since he only sleeps 4 hours a night) doesn't mean the rest of us do (I myself am much more likely to go to bed at 4:00 AM). I did, however, manage to squeeze in a chat about Simone de Beauvoir with another professor, so all was not lost. And then I went to the library (does going to the library at 9 AM make me a loser? naaaaah) and got some good stuff (I hope) on literary doubles. One book looked especially promising, but, as it was in German, I didn't think it would be much help.
No correct answers on the trivia question yet (4/28/02 at 10:02 PM) . . . any more guesses?

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
