Philosophy Slam
Still philosophizing after all these years.

Back from conducting a marathon STD meeting (I love being president sometimes-- these things go fast when I'm in charge). We're gearing up for the annual Read-A-Thon (every year, we read for 12 hours straight on the front steps of the library; it's a fundraiser for Literacy). Right now, people are signed up to read The Eyre Affair, Their Eyes Were Watching God (that's Tim-- I had no idea he liked Hurston-- he said he's going to translate from Klingon to English), To Kill A Mockingbird, and an unspecified Dr. Seuss. The Seuss won't top David's confrontational reading of Green Eggs and Ham from last year. There are a bunch of undecideds, as well. I myself am thinking either Gravity's Rainbow or The Myth of Sisyphus, but that's subject to change. Get your butts out there and support us! We need audiences!
The other news: I did manage to get my proposal for the poetry reading in, just in time (two hours before the deadline, in true Elvisette style). We're looking at May 8th at 7:00, assuming it gets approved. Quick, painless credit!
Now, if I could just do my homework. I have to go to the liberry and photocopy a bunch of stuff tonight, then turn in some forms between 7-10 (why does everything have to be so complicated?). And, yes, homework . . . at some point. I can always go AWOL from French tomorrow, if need be.

Pascal: The present is never our end. The past and the present are our means, the future alone our end. Thus we never actually live, but hope to live, and since we are always planning how to be happy, it is inevitable that we should never be so.
